What is the O-SHot?

The O-Shot, is short for orgasm enhancement shot or injections.

This treatment is designed to stimulate the vaginal and clitoral tissue via regeneration by using your own platelets.

How is this procedure performed?

In the same way we use PRP (platelet rich plasma) to regenerate the skin and stimulate hair regrowth, we use your body’s own platelets to stimulate tissue regeneration in the vaginal region.

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to performing this procedure which is relatively painless.

We draw 2 tubes of blood and place them in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and the platelets from the red and white blood cells. We subsequently reinject the platelets and the plasma that are rich in stem cells and growth factors into the vaginal area.

What are the indications for this treatment?

  • vaginal dryness associated with menopause
  • painful intercourse
  • vaginal laxity
  • loss of sexual pleasure
  • inability to achieve orgasm
  • symptoms of urinary incontinence

Who is a candidate for this treatment?

This treatment can be performed on women of all ages.

Some women will choose this procedure because they suffer from female sexual arousal dysfunction. These women are either unable to achieve orgasm or have a decreased ability to achieve orgasm.

Some studies suggest that this can affect up to 1:20 women.

Other women will choose this treatment because they are experiencing painful intercourse. This can be a result of post-partum changes, menopausal changes or other physiological factors.

The procedure is particularly appealing to mature women who don’t want to take hormone therapy or can’t take hormone therapy for medical reasons.

It’s also appealing to women who aren’t interested in laser therapy for the same indication.

However, for women who are interested in hormone replacement therapy and laser vaginal rejuvenation, the O-Shot is an added bonus to these treatments.

What are the contraindications?

This procedure is contraindicated in patients who have platelet dysfunction and are taking antiplatelet medication. It’s a relative contraindication in patients that are squeamish of taking blood.

How does the O-Shot differ from the G-Shot®?

The G-Shot uses hyaluronic acid to enhance the G-spot only.

The O-Shot uses PRP (platelet rich plasma) to enhance the entire vaginal area, which includes the clitoral area, the periurethral area and the vaginal mucosa. This results in a natural regeneration of tissue in the entire region using cellular stem cells, which will help develop new collagen, new blood flow, and new cellular growth.

There is very little risk involved in this treatment, as the treatment is autologous. This means that the treatment is derived from the patient and there are no external drugs or devices inserted in the vaginal area.

What are the benefits?

The O-Shot has multiple benefits. These include:

  • enhanced vaginal lubrication
  • enhanced sexual pleasure
  • improved intimacy and increased ability to achieve stronger and more frequent orgasms
  • decreased pain for those experiencing painful sex
  • tightening of vaginal tissues
  • improved urinary incontinence

Results of the O-Shot vary depending on the patient’s medical condition, hormonal status, age, underlying symptomatology as well as personal expectations.

This is a good treatment to combine with vaginal laser rejuvenation therapy for the menopausal female.

When combining vaginal rejuvenation laser procedures with BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) and PRP O-Shot, results from the collagen regeneration in the fascia and mucosa are even further enhanced.

In short, the O-Shot is the most natural way to stimulate the vaginal area and is becoming a hot topic in PRP (platelet rich plasma) medicine.
